British vibes and American food at Wayfare Tavern, FiDi
Wayfare Tavern is worth the commute to downtown during the weekend. The walls, and decor feel distinctly British, yet the food is American.
A few of my friends and I went to get brunch at Wayfare Tavern located in FiDi SF. I’ve never commuted before to get brunch in FiDi, so I was a bit thrown off about visiting this place for brunch. After hanging out and eating here, I can say Wayfare Tavern is worth the commute downtown during the weekend.
British Vibes 🇬🇧
I was blown away by how it felt like I was inside a pub in London. The walls, decor, and energy feel distinctly British, yet the food is American. I particularly enjoyed all the photos of ducks on the wall.
Ethically, I feel conflicted about the giant deer on the wall (I hope it’s fake), but it does add to this distinctly English aesthetic.
The Food 🇺🇸
I highly recommend visiting and trying their brunch. The deviled eggs were delicious and one of the highlights. They also serve my favorite coffee brand, Equator, so my Americano was just to my liking.
The menu is American-style so that most people will enjoy something on the menu. I wasn’t feeling too adventurous when I visited, but I will get Chicken and Waffles next time I visit.
The Chef 👩🍳
I didn’t know it then, but Wayfare Tavern is a celebrity chef restaurant by Tyler Florence.
Tyler Florence is a chef and television host of several Food Network shows. He graduated from the College of Culinary Arts at the Charleston, South Carolina, Johnson & Wales University campus in 1991. He was later given an honorary doctorate for his culinary success. – Wikipedia
